Our Story

A timeless club born in an age of innovation, now thriving with tradition and pride.

In the vibrant era of the Roaring Twenties, Midland Hills Country Club emerged from a visionary gathering of University of Minnesota professors and local leaders. Inspired by the booming popularity of golf post-World War I, the University Club sought to expand its playground and establish an 18-hole golf course.

Renowned architect Seth Raynor, a protégé of Charles Blair Macdonald, crafted our iconic course, with a topographical map completed by a University of Minnesota professor.

Over the years, Midland Hills became synonymous with rolling hills, undulating greens, and a challenging layout. A complete Seth Raynor restoration in 2020 has reincorporated the Classic Golf Course Architecture, led by architect Jim Urbina. This restoration has created an endless variety of playability and fun for our members and guests to enjoy daily.

We continue to believe that physical exercise, good friendship, and good sportsmanship shape a better life. Become part of Midland Hills Country Club history – a timeless club born in an age of innovation, now thriving with tradition and pride.
