Hole 17 – “Long”

The Long template — modeled after No.14 at the Old Course — is, once again, a three-shot hole for all but the very longest hitters. Keep your second shot to the left if you can — but avoid the lone fairway bunker at all costs. The third shot is a delicate one, requiring excellent touch, because this green is a beast. Shots that carry too far into the green will roll over into the fringe or the rough; shots that don’t carry far enough will pull up short or roll back off the false front. The smart play to a hole location on the right-side plateau is to the very center of the green.
